Happy Birthday Mr. President

"The inclination to exchange thoughts with one another is probably an original impulse of our nature. If I be in pain I wish to let you know it, and to ask your sympathy and assistance; and my pleasurable emotions also, I wish to communicate to, and share with you. "
-Abraham Lincoln, February 11, 1859

And perhaps this is why I write so transparently on this site. An exchange of thoughts. An original impulse. An inclination to share. These are only a few of Lincoln's incredible words and contributions to our society; just a drop in the ocean of wealth he left behind.

If you want to read a brilliant book, try Lincoln's Melancholy by Joshua Shenk. I have learned much from it.
