Welcome to Summer!

(Picture: Our favorite summer vacation spot, Cancun 06')
Today is a big day for me. The first day of my summer. I have been in the pool all day today and I just finished making my summer music play list. Tonight we are grilling, drinking limeade, and heck, I should probably make an apple pie to be completely good and American about it. And good news, I can still get in the pool the old school way...just get in. I worry about the day I wake up to find that I get in the pool like my mom, one toe at a time, that means the arrival of old ladyhood.

Yay! Welcome to summer!

So here's my summer music playlist (OK, well the first of many). Note and disclaimer: These are songs that make me happy or make me feel like I am at the beach and make me want to dance or sing at the top of my lungs. Most of them are old, so if you are looking for new music choices, this is not the list for you! (Although I do love this new guy Justin Nozuka from Canada, he is 16 years old and I think he is the collision of Matt Kearney and Gavin DeGraw, brilliant). Here's to summer. Enjoy.

wow, the only songs on there i ever listen to are the two Toby Mac songs. i think a happy playlist for me would probably consist of those two, plus some of the following:

Nuisance- John Rueben
Everything Glorious- David Crowder
Inside Out- Cadia
Wake Up Wake Up- Everyday Sunday
Medicine- The Fold

Life Is Good- Stellar Kart
Oh! Gravity- Switchfoot
When In Doubt- Thousand Foot Krutch
But Now My Eyes Are Open- Tree63
All of Me- Watashi Wa
annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd Sticking With You- Addison Road

now, if i were to go through my nonChristian bands, i'd add:

Hook- Blues Traveler
Breakfast At Tiffany's- Deep Blue Something
also a few songs by Hootie and the Blowfish, Eisley, and a LOT of songs by Sister Hazel

then again, i'm too addicted to music to narrow a playlist down to just those

Can I just say how much I laughed when I saw that you had "Changes" by 2Pac on your list?! I mean, seriously, laughing fits galore... I just don't picture Missy Miss Jenny Simmons listening to 2Pac. I look at you and hear Damien Rice, Eisley and Muse. I love it! Love it with a capitol L-O-V-E.. Get it, J-Rock Simz.... Get. It.

You have officially inspired me to create a new playlist.... Thanks pal. The End.

If you are after summer music, natasha beddingfield has a some great tracks. Pocketful of sunshine, happy, and backyard seem particularly summery to me. Other songs that come to mind are let it out and feel alright by zoegirl.

Hi Jenny,

I saw you guys at AGAPE in Greenville, IL. I bought your cd and I LOVE it--it is so upbeat, fresh, and honest.

I did have a question...Do you have any accomp. tracks so that people can sing your songs in church? I have looked online for them but have had no luck. If you could let me know that would be GREAT.

Thanks so much,
